Rapid Photo Downloader 0.9.27a2 is released

As with all previous releases, download the installer script. If you are updating from anything other than 0.9.27 alpha 1, and you want to take advantage of being able to download from iOS devices, then running the install script instead of the in-program updater is recommended.

To install the alpha version, run the installer script like this:

python3 install.py --devel

Wow, 100+ points to Gryffindor!

For the first time under Linux I’m able to grab (almost) all my photos and videos on my iPhone and transfer them to my hard disk.

What I noticed:

  • Photos deleted in the Photos app which are still within the ‘safety period’ of 30 days are still found & transferred, which is reasonable.

  • Foreign photos automatically stored in Photos by messenger apps like Whatsapp are found but not transferred and a warning appears. I thinks this is a feature or is it worth a bugreport? Any way to rescue those incomplete photos?

Those photos do not have any metadata. By design, Rapid Photo Downloader will never transfer photos or videos that lack metadata.
