Hi everyone ! First of all, thank you very much for all the work provided to LBB evolution, it’s so cool !
I ran into an issue while trying to setup LBB on a Zero W laying around my house. While the installation seems to be successful, the backup never occurs.
I selected the ‘Card Backup’ feature, changed the mounting option so that my media storage is a 128Gb USB stick. When I turn on the Pi with the USB stick plugged in, it automatically shutdown after a minute, seems ok. But if I plug the card to back up while it’s on it is where things a getting weird. It is either doing nothing (except filling up the dev/root directory) or shutting down as well.
I’ve tried the same setup on my raspberry pi 4 and everything is working flawlessly…
If you guys have experienced the same or have an idea on how to solve, I would really appreciate it !
Cheers !
I have. I genuinely don’t think that the Zero has enough power to run it properly.
I went back to a 4 with 2GB ram and all is fine again
So your advice is to just give up on trying to make the pi zero work ahah?
Advice might be a strong word for it but I did genuinely find it impossible to work in a reasonable timeframe.
Since I had a spare pi4 sitting around I just went back to that and it worked
Okok, I just though the zero’s form factor is so much more convenient, but ok getting back to the RPI4 ahah
Sorry for my late response. Firstly, are you trying to back up data from a card reader to the internal storage? In that case, you need to use the Internal backup feature.
I actually use a Raspberry Pi Zero with a Zero4U USB hub (Zero4U: 4-Port USB Hub for Raspberry Pi Zero (V1.3 and W) | UUGear). It’s not fast, but it works like charm.
Kind regards,
Dmitri
Hi ! No worries
Nope I’m trying to backup data from a card reader to a USB stick !
I see. Do you use a USB hub for that?
Yes ! Almost the same as yours, https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B07PKN14FY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It that case, the problem is most likely the device names. This might help: Troubleshooting · dmpop/little-backup-box Wiki · GitHub
Ok, thanks ! I’ll try this when I get home.
I already tried to modify the name of the devices from the web interface but not directly from the backup.sh file.
