I started writing this tool in order to satisfy my needs for batch importing/renaming, similar to what’s available in Lightroom/Bridge.

Does it copy and rename the original image as well as converting it to dng?
Side question, does importing in LR convert to dng?

It’ll rename the new dng while leaving original intact. You can choose whether to embed the original raw in the dng, though, it’ll just eat up more space.
LR has the ability to copy as dng, along with 1:1 copy and import to catalog in place. The main feature that I was missing with other tools was the renaming features

Ah very cool!
Exiftool can do this, though maybe not to the same.level with all the variables you have.
