From what I understand the entry in Rawpedia regarding History:

is incomplete. I suggest adding the following:
“Note that this only works as long as you are editing one photo, during one Rawtherapee session. If you switch to editing a different photo, or if you close and reopen Rawtherapee, the changes made before are of course still applied to the image, but the History panel is now blank.”
