RawTherapee 5.12 - Framing not working

Hi There!

Pondering a Linux setup and hence looking into Rawtherapee. Got quite some experience in Darktable, but it has started to become to lengthy to edit a photo and my wife doesnt like my edits in Darktable.

Anyhow. I can’t get the framing to work. I have switched it on in Transform, and even when I don’t do any chances to the settings, no frame / border shows up? Where’s the PEBKAC?

Your frame is only visible when you export a photo…

Unfortunately not, there is just no frame :frowning:

Hello, seems broken indeed. It used to work, but without a preview, only visible in the exported photo.

I tested on a semi-recent dev build and found things working fine. If you’re just into RawTherapee, I suggest you to check if you have enabled both the Resizing tool and Frame tool, as it is very common for beginner to forget enabling tools before using them. If still no luck, feel free to post you .pp3 file so people can look into it with more info.

Hello, I tested again on a fresh dev build and it works now. As @syyrmb said, you need to enable (= switch on) both Resize & Framing and Frame. Then export the file and it shows up in the File Browser.

When I framed a second image and exported it, it did not show up in the file browser, only the first one. But in gThumb they did show up. Remedy: refresh the file browser, not with F5 but by placing the cursor in the path field to your current image directory (on top of my screen) and hit Enter.
