Rawtherapee 5.8 crashes, cannot build it either

opensuse tumbleweed v20210415

Tumbleweed updated to its latest release, RT v5.8 appimage now crashes on startup. So I decided to try the build-it option. A library, libitpcdata, is (no longer?) part of the opensuse repository. RT does not build either.

Any suggestions?

Ah! I found the distribution link for libitpcdata (it is 12 years since the last update). Installed. Building. And it loads.

Sadly, it has no idea where the appimage’s settings are, and it forgets what it is doing. I cannot edit anything. :frowning:

Hello,

You can find libiitpcdata here: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/openSUSE/libiptcdata

It is 7 months old, and is part of the GNOME:Factory project.

Hope this helps

Thank you. The URL https://rawpedia.rawtherapee.com/Linux is out of date then.

The appimage and the compiled versions do not look for settings and configuration in the same place. How do I point the built version to use the settings and profiles made by the appimage version?

Copy them over or symlink the settings to the correct place.

The appimage settings are located in ~/.config/RawTherapee. Is this the “correct place?” Or is there another?
