Re-using composite darktable mask (is it possible?)

Let’s say I want to adjust both exposure and contrast on an unusually dark foreground object only.

In exposure I set the masking to “parametric and drawn”
Pulling the input sliders to the left isolates the dark foreground object but it also includes various dark parts of the background I want left as they are.

Now I make various drawn shapes to cover the background portions I do not want changed, and I flip the polarity of those drawn shapes so they exclude sub-portions from the original parametric mask. Great. Now I have exactly what I wanted.

However. Now I want to use that same composite mask to adjust contrast, tone-curve and sharpening (I want to leave the background fuzzy and blurred).

Do I have to manually re-build that complex mask for each successive module? There must be a way to re-use it. I’ve looked at the documentation and perused youtube. But I can’t find it. Mask Manager seems to operate over the drawn shapes only, with no knowledge of existing parametric mask(s).

2.7 gives you this ability with the raster mask feature.
