I just began my journey with vkdt port on windows yesterday. Just want to see how spatial effects like grain and halation of spektrafilm perform on my video files.
Raw photos work great but I am having problems with encoded video files. I imagine that raw video must work great as well but that is not available to me.
I use Lumix S5IIx and record mostly in V-Log/V-Gamut.
However I don’t see much options for interpreting input file colorspace and gamma.
Should I convert to rec709 prior to using vkdt or maybe there is some wider gamut available or linear?
I looked through documentation but haven’t found anything useful.
I don’t know if it is possible but ability to apply only grain and halation without color changes would be nice
tried a vlog sample from dpreview, see my settings above. not entirely sure the format has jpeg or mpeg range, the yuvj420p legacy format seems to indicate jpeg. looks a bit softer/more neutral. i’m sure you’ll be able to judge on your footage
i fail to auto-detect these settings from the file, but so does mpv. probably a good idea to create a preset with all these things or even put them in a custom default-darkroom.i-vid if all your footage looks like this.
