Recommended workflow for black and white film negative scan processing in ART+

Hi, I’m using ART+ for about a year for processing of black and white film negative scans (Using Canon R10 + Macro Lens, shooting RAW).

I’m using Special Effects/Film Negative + Special Effects/Black-and-white but I’m not satisfied with results as Film Negative is probably optimized for Color negatives.

In RawTherapee I found that there is built in preset called Film Negative - Black and White that gives me better results.

What is recommended workflow for converting negative bw film scans (via DSLR) to positives in ART+ ?

Can you elaborate why you are not satisfied with ART and why RawTherapee gives better results? What is “better”?
