10 years ago I took this picture while traveling through France. Back then I edited it with lightroom, but I have no clue what I did back then (I was just pulling sliders and maybe a gradient or two)
I placed the “color equalizer” module below the “color calibration” module (where I ‘create’ the B/W mix)
This to be able to adjust for example the blue patches to become darker and the yellows to become brighter . Maybe that is not the right way to do it, or maybe it is. Anyway, my aim is a nice graphic B/W image. I like the ‘glow’ of the yellows in the LR b/w version
Modifying @Popanz is probably going to get you closest to what you had, so I thought about not doing a play. But there is something about this photo that I like. Sorry it is not at ll what you were asking for!
Here is my edit. It was a bit of fun to play with. BTW, I love the two people and the stop sign. It reminded me a little of Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz. I wish they weren’t chopped off.
In my edit I activated the monochrome module early and then used the CC module. I got this idea for using the color calibration module from @Popanz edit.
I then used the color zones module to teak which areas became lighter or darker based on color. And finally I used a couple of heavy instances of local contrast to give the level of contrast I desired.
Really nice edits. As usual there are may ways to achieve something in DT @Terry tbh, during the short stop, an enthusiastic dog and nagging spouse (why is this taking so long) I really did not take my time to compose and scout properly
