I’m following the Comet stacking instructions from Siril - Working with Comets. At the step “Global alignment and stacking” it says:
At the end of the registration step, Siril will normally pick the image with the lowest FWHM as a new reference image. While this is valid for the general case, we want to force using our own ref image. So re-open the frame selector and set again your own reference.
The frame I picked, plate solved and color corrected is no longer in the frame list. I can find it in the working directory so it has not disappeared.
What have I done wrong?
Siril 1.4.0beta4 on Mac OS Sequoia 15.7.

There’s an identified bug in beta4 which does not export the reference frame. As a temporary workaround, you can tick 2pass box when doing the global registration and then Apply Registration. This will be fixed anyway in next release,
