Hello everyone.
I recently made announcement about this on the Natron Discord, but I have to post here as well. There has been an increase recently in Discord accounts getting compromised/hacked. Hackers then bombard all servers, groups and channels that the compromised account has access to with scam links.
These kind of attacks, unfortunately, have also hit our server, and have been increasing in frequency.
If you are a member of the Natron Discord, we urge you to enable 2FA on your Discord accounts using an authentication app like Google/Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, Aegis Authenticator, Ente Auth, etc. to eliminate the chances of your accounts being compromised and taken over by hackers and scammers. No, authentication by email/text is not enough. We also urge you to frequently keep changing and/or rotating passwords. Many modern web browsers now have the ability to auto-generate safe randomised passwords-- use that feature, often. If you want to be extra safe, use Diceware passphrases. The harder you make your accounts to be compromised, the less likely of a target you will be for hackers and scammers. We have to make this PSA now, since the frequency of compromised accounts and attacks has been increasing, even in a small server like this one. If your account is compromised, or if Discord marks your account with Suspicious Activity, you will be banned from the Discord server without any warnings.
Moreover, to keep the server clean and to further reduce chances of said attacks, we will prune members with zero or near-zero activity. This decision is being made because every single attack in the Natron Discord has been from compromised inactive Discord accounts. If you have been kicked in the pruning process, and wish to re-join the Discord server, you can always do so using the invite link available on the website-- The pruning process is manual and accounts are not banned unless deemed suspicious by Discord-- But make sure to always keep your account secure.
Thank you for your attention to this issue.
