Registering not linear sequences

I am trying to align two stretched images of the same target with different framing. I would then crop the sequence and move on to integrate the images. I can do it manually in Photoshop but I would prefer to see if Siril can give me a more accurate alignment. I load the two fits files, then convert the sequence, then I select three-star alignment. When it processes the alignment, I get the following error: “Image #1: number of layers (1) is not consistent with sequence (3), aborting.” Is there any way I can get past this problem? I don’t know what layers mean in fits files or how to flatten them if that would help.

Hello, the correct way to do this is to create a sequence of images with the two images and use the global registration. The script that recombines monochrome images does that already. This is documented in this tutorial: Siril - RGB composition

Thank you.
