Hi Everyone,
just wanted to share a different way of presenting photos. It’s basically a slideshow but I have created some framework around it and added a narrative speaker. All in the style of the 1920s (at least that is what I had in mind).
I scaled it down to hd so it is only 60 MB - if this is still too big please just delete this posting. The language is obviously german - but you can guess the content anyway. The movie is made in davinci resolve (since there is a free version i hope you accept that), the images are all processed in dt 5.4. One more note: since i am very bad at creating this type of texts i used LM studio (completely offline) with the chatGPT model to give me a starting point for the wording. One of the few situation where ai at least is capable of jump starting a creative process.
I hope you enjoy the result. Please comment.
A lovely presentation! I liked the calm tone and beautiful imagery.
I was also wondering how the presentation would work without the intro and outro, just with the title card (and maybe interstitial cards?). That would give more room for the photos, and might look more cohesive. The talking head segments also didn’t quite fit with the 1920 aesthetic to my eye. (Definitely cut out the last second of each segment, where you look down, presumably to end the recording).
Personally, I would tone down or remove the effects, too (streaks, wobble, crackle). I found them a bit distracting.
Regardless, it was a fun little video, and well done!
I’ve started making short video/slide shows for sharing with family. I’ve just switched from KdenLive to Resolve for improved color management. I’m finding that I miss having the dt pipeline in Resolve, but it’s good in a different way. Much to learn!
Thanks for the feedback. The main audience is my family so I made it somewhat more attractive to look at it compared to a simple slideshow. But, your thinking basically copies the feedback from my family: no intro and stuff needed - just show colorful and nice images.
Too bad that I have a weak spot for dark and moody content.
I enjoyed watching it very much. I like the experiments you involved in. That’s a nice way to find new ways and learn a lot. Looking forward to the next one!
