Renaming folder for dev build of RT 5.8 [answered]

Hello, I just recently installed the dev build of RT 5.8, and it has made the file path of the executable for the cli-version of Rawtherapee very cumbersome when doing command line batch processing of raw files extra eyesorish with having to have an unnecessarily long directory in the code of “C:\Program Files\RawTherapee\dev_5.8-2178-g6cc9537ab_20200619\rawtherapee-cli.exe” instead of “C:\Program Files\RawTherapee\5.8\rawtherapee-cli.exe”. Would changing the folder name cause any issues for running Rawtherapee? Any one know about a cleaner native way to call rawtherapee-cli.exe on Windows cmd?
I am running Windows 10.

  • if you use an installer, the best way is to uninstall and reinstall with the installer where you want as there are some informations written in the registry and also it’s possible you cannot uninstall cleanly.

  • if you extracted from a zip file rename or move as you want.

Thanks for the quick response. It looks like I did use the installer, so I will just uninstall and re-download using the zip folder option.
