Just a quick comment that renaming in digiKam is capable of using syntax highlighting now. It should be easier to decipher a renaming string this way :-)

What about saving changes? Submitted by paurullan (not verified) on Sat, 2009-11-21 16:35. Is there any plan about saving these strings? I always use the "dir_[date:yyyy-MM-dd]_###" and there could be some way to avoid to write it.
