Resynthesizer plug-in (AppImage)

Hi,

I just installed the resynthesizer plug-in as an AppImage, but it doesn’t show up in the Gimp’s ‘Filters’ menu (Filters > Map). What can I do? Oh, sorry, I am using Gimp 2.10.36 under Ubuntu MATE 24.04.

TIA,

Claus

I think appImage version of Resynthesizer may be for GIMP 3.x.

If you would like to use GIMP 2.10 and Resynthesizer, it is recommended that install both with Flatpak. Because GIMP 2.10 on Linux doesn’t support python-fu with other installing method and it is incompatible with Resynthesizer.

GIMP Flatpak installation:

Resynthesizer Flatpak installation:

$ flatpak --user install org.gimp.GIMP.Plugin.Resynthesizer org.gimp.GIMP.Plugin.LiquidRescale org.gimp.GIMP.Plugin.Lensfun org.gimp.GIMP.Plugin.GMic org.gimp.GIMP.Plugin.Fourier org.gimp.GIMP.Plugin.FocusBlur org.gimp.GIMP.Plugin.BIMP

Hi Yasuo,

thanks for your recommendation, but I have installed both FX-Foundry & GAP with Gimp 2.10.36 (Ubuntu repository). How do I install those filters with the flatpak version of Gimp?

Following thread didn’t help you?

Hi. This command is partly true. The only working plugins in such list are org.gimp.GIMP.Plugin.Resynthesizer, org.gimp.GIMP.Plugin.GMic and org.gimp.GIMP.Plugin.Fourier, being the last two not related to Resynthesizer.

You can take a look at the supported plugins in https://flathub.org/apps/org.gimp.GIMP:

The other ones are abandonware (I mean: they were not ported by their developers to GIMP 3 API), so please do not install them, they will not work.
