Reusing registration from existing multiple nights

Is there a way to stack multiple nights where one merges the r_bkg_pp_* of the next night without discarding the existing registration information and then only registers the new night to the existing multi-night r_pp_* files?

Otherwise, the compute time is slowly getting excessive…

Hi, yes there is a way, with manual intervention. A part of the answer is in the FAQ: How do I process several sessions?. You can reuse the files of the process directory to avoid redoing all from the start indeed.

Thanks! I know that guide, and I always thought it meant “take the bkg_pp_* from each session, throw them together and register all”.

I was wondering… I have two sessions with individually registered r_bkg_pp_* files. Can I throw these two together and relate their registration to each other?

Or can I have one session of registered image r_bkg_pp_* and one session of unregistered bkg_pp_*, then throw the unregistered images into the registered session and register only those new, unregistered images to the existing ones?

sorry, I missed your message; the registration will create the files anyway so you’d better put all the bkg_pp files together
putting the r_bkg_pp together would work too, but one of the two sequences would be rotated twice, so that’s not ideal

in any case, make sure you choose a reference frame that gives the framing you want for the result, in case there is some movement in the sequences.
