This is my first Pixl post, though I’ve been following Darktable’s development for a while.
Not to make things even more complicated, but on the floating/docked issue, I think the advantage of floating is that you can move it to a second screen or whatever. In my particular case, I have two side by side normal (1080x1920/27”??) monitors, and it would be easier and clearer (IMHO) to have all the editing and masking modules (plus histogram/vectorsope) on one monitor, and the image in the other. This would be doubly so if, as proposed, you can have multiple columns of modules open simultaneously.
I realize that would require a lot of UI changes, which is why I haven’t brought it up but if floating module windows are implemented it seems like it would a smaller change.
