I’ve now twice gone through this exercise unsuccessfully.
Has anyone gotten RPD working in WSL on Windows 10?
If so, how did you go about it. There is a LOT of conflicting information.
cheers

Unless there is a specific reason for working with RPD from Windows (via WSL), you could try and install XNView classic from Windows directly → the package contains a small app named Media Detector with almost the same functionality as RPD under Linux. Works without problems under Windows 10 and Windows 11.
I’ve played a bit with the ‘Import and Sort’ tool in XnViewMP. I’m going to admit upfront, I’m unable to figure out a way to import in the manner of RPD.
No, I did not mean ‘Import and Sort’ tool in XNViewMP, but the ‘Media Detector’.
Thanks.
After looking and playing around a bit a lot of ingest/renaming tools that I would have to arm twist into importing my images, I decided to craft my own, ish.
Using ChatGPT, I was able to craft a utility in python (command line for now), that imports my images, renaming and placing in folders on my NAS and then writing xmp files with an appropriate descriptor.
Tomorrow, I’m going to work on building a GUI for the tool.
Thanks again
