Seems a shame I only ever visit this forum whenever I have a problem with installing the latest version of RawTherapee. I had been using a stable Mac build (RawTherapee_macOS_13.3_Universal_5.9-473-gd0e36ee50_23DEC241357) up until today when I noticed that 5.10 for Mac was available. I un-installed the older version, installed the latest version - but no luck - I just get the crash error dialogue box. I then uninstalled the new build, and tried to re-install the old 5.9 build - but that too displays the same error. What am I doing wrong? Thanks

This report showed you tried to launch RT from the disk image, which is not supported. It must be installed into /Applications.
Problem solved - thank you. (Knew I had to be doing something wrong!)

In case it helps anyone else - who isn’t entirely clear about the installation instructions: When the dialogue box instructs you to drag the RawTherapee logo into the Applications folder, this is only the first of two steps. First, you drag the logo from the desktop into the Apps folder, where the file still appears as a grey icon in the list. Clicking this icon opens another sub-folder which contains the familiar RawTherapee wheel. This then needs to be dragged BACK into the Apps folder - where it now slots into the Apps list as the multi-coloured wheel. Clicking on the wheel then opens the program as normal. There might be a simpler way of doing it - but that’s how I got it to work.
