RT crashes using external hdd

Hello everyone…
I have a question, do you access the files on your computer’s HDD or an external HDD?
Every time I try to access my files from an external HDD, Rawtherapee crashes. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, how did you fix it?

How did you install RT? Which version? And on which OS?

Have you granted proper permissions in macOS’s gatekeep app to let RT access the external drive?

I have never encountered a problem with RT accessing and working from any device, internal, external, or network.

Can you be more specific… How are you “trying” to access “files” and what type are they exactly? If it is crashing, the system let you know that; can you copy and paste the provided system crash report?

However, there is no gatekeeper app in macOS; there should be no need to interact with system integrity or gatekeeper settings unless you denied permission accidentally. In that case you need to reset security:

hummmm…I gave permissions that OS asked in order to run RT. (thought it was gatekeeper permission)

I only use RAW (NEF Nikon Extended File)
next time it crashes I’ll copy/paste the report.

I already checked about Security and everything seems fine.
