RawTherapee 5.11 lacks exif data on .CR3 (Canon M50). At ‘Info’ I see only ‘EXIF data not available’. But on JPGs converted with 5.10 there are full exifs readable.
I tryed unchecking ‘Use LibRaw’–no effect.
Curiously, the appimage works fine and read all the exifs.
Fedora 40, RawTherapee 5.11-1 installed from repository–does not read them.
Who knows, how to fix it?
I remember that fedora did not want to use vendored versions of libraw, so you should check with the packagers of libraw and rawtherapee to make sure they’re built correctly to read CR3s. In the past fedora did not want to enable the optional flags in exiv2 to read CR3s either.
Since the appimage bundles its own dependencies, this is why it works. You can continue using the appimage if CR3s are crucial to you workflow.
This’ll get fixed only starting w/ Fedora 41, it’ll ship exiv2 0.28.x w/ support for CR3 enabled.
