Search by metatag 'version name' not possible

Hello,

This is my first post in this awesome forum.
I moved from Win DT v3.6 to Ubuntu DT v3.6 and now v3.8.
On the Windows version it was possible to use the metatag ‘version name’ in collections module as search parameter.
When I moved to DT on Ubuntu I noticed that this option is gone - in v3.6 and stilll in v3.8.
Just installed DT as regular package; not self compiled.
Any explanation would be helpful. Thanks.

Not able to reproduce. Option version name is available and works fine.

I did install binary package from this repository:

Can confirm that it is not available in 3.8.0 for MacOS downloaded from darktable.org if that is of any help:

So is it just missing on 3.8? Or is there any 3.8.x binary build out there I can use to get the version name filtering back?
Or is it recommended to build darktable from git source?

Is the version name field set as “visible” in the metadata editor (if not, you can make it visible within the preferences screen – in the presets menu – in the metadata editor module)? It’s only possible to search on visible fields in the collections module.

That’s it! :man_facepalming: Can’t remember ever seen that setting about metatag visibility.
Changing this gets back that search option in the collections filter.
Thanks a lot!
