Searching for Adobe RGB.icc not the older Adobe RGB 1998.icc

My Eizo monitor is calibrated using the Adobe rgb color space. It’s interesting that Eizo does not have this icc profile that can be downloaded from their website. I don’t expect to ever get it as well. I am curious as to why there is no Adobe RGB profile which I believe supports a wider gamut than the older Adobe RGB 1998 one.

I can’t say but I think 1998 is the “Adobe rgb” color space… There could be a custom one if someone tweaked the co-ordinates… I think when you speak of monitors they define themselves as to what % of some colorspace gamut that they can achieve…the profile is likely going to be custom for the monitor and never exactly srgb or Adobe rgb… or P3 or whatever but targeted to achieve specs matching one of them…

Adobe Rgb is defined I think then Adobe jumped to Prophoto as their main colorspace choice wider than sRGB.

These are sort of the main “standards” at least as far a I know for optional colorspaces… which isn’t saying much

Elle, has a range of custom profiles, and gamma’s in both v2 and v4 icc. She explains them on her website which is a great resource…

When I asked Eizo support for the profile they suggested that I use adobe 1998 in my editing software. They had nothing for me beyond that.

Not sure why they would say that… If you are calibrating the monitor then you would use that as your display profile… that is all that matters… color management handles the conversions… I guess they are saying export to that so that if you look it might be a match on your monitor… but really if the CM is set up it shouldn’t matter
