Searching images without a given tag (Advanced Search)

Hi,

I’m trying to build a saved search using the advanced search tab. I’m using a lot of tags to qualify them. For example, I’m using #switzerland, #geneva, #lausanne
Photo with #lausanne or #geneva have #switzerland also (see it as a hierarchy)
Now,I like to build a search that returns all photo tagged with #switzerland but not #geneva
I can’t find how to “negate” the #geneva tags in the panel. How do you do in this case ?

Thanks for your tip

In the advanced search dialog, there’s a label “Options >>” at the right side. Clicking on that gives you access to four radio buttons specifying how to use the conditions you define.

In your case, I’d make one group selection all images with #switzerland,
then a second group (combine with “AND”) selecting all image which do not have #geneva by picking the option “None of these conditions are met”

Oooh… Thank ! I discovered 2 things. This conditions panel…but also groups.

Coming from Lightroom / Bridge, in the search panel, you would add one condition per line. I was looking for something similar. In fact one condition in Lightroom / Bridge, is a set of all possible rule. And this set is a group, which you can negate.

It helps ! Thank for showing this!
