Select Foreground - how to generate a selection in Gimp

Hi,
Select Foreground works fine here (GMIC / Gimp GIT-version).
But I have a simple question. How can I get a ‘Gimp selection’ ?
I have only seen 2 layers output where one of which is a mask.
How can I convert this into a ‘Gimp selection’

This is the gmic_gimp_qt (or gtk) plugin interactive foreground select filter you are using?
For the layer + mask option, make the mask layer active then

Gimp menu Layers → Transparency → Alpha to selection.
