Shadow indicator in GIMP, how to turn it off?

When I choose to colour manage GIMP I get something that looks like shadow indicator. Any idea how to turn it off?

I think you have one (or more) display filters turned on.

Have a look at View → Display Filters…, should look something like this:

In the top left corner you see the window that popped-up. I activated Clip Warning in this example. You can add/remove them (select a filter and use the arrows), temporarily deactivate them (use the x in front of the active filter) and change settings (select the active filter and adjust settings that show up).

EDIT: Spelling.

Nothing turned on.

Are those areas out of gamut? Could you provide a sample?

There’s one other options that might be turned on, which @afre touched upon. Have a look at: Edit → Preferences → Color Management → Mark out of gamut colors.

One other thing: You only see this when using GIMP?

No luck there. The only thing that works is to choose None as profile. But then the colours will be more saturated than in darktable and print.

Absolute colourmetric solved it.
