I do not know if you guys will be able to help me out but I have been trying and reading for hours to no luck. I installed Sigma’s photo pro using wine but everytime I try to launch it nothing happens. It uninstalls and reinstalls fine.
I should mention that i have a sigma DP2 merrill. Just seeing if anyone has had luck running it on linux mint.
I think it may be the sleep deprivation but I thought I had the most uptodate Rawtherapee and did not. So i am able to see the .x3f files but they look super grainy. I am sure i can figure it out, but i would still like to run sigma photopro if possible.
I am sorry I was not trying to break any rules. I was just wondering if anyone in this community had any helpful hints.
After much more trial and error. I updated wine to 1.8 and it still didn’t work. Then I tried downloading an older version (5.5.3, I had initially downloaded 6.5) of sigma’s software and bam it started working.
I just wanted to post this here just for that one other person that may be looking for an answer…haha
Did you happen to check https://raw.pixls.us to see if there were samples already from your camera? If not maybe you could share some raw files for us?
Then you might be able to move into using a nice FL/OSS processor.
thank you for the resource will do next time. Just new to the whole linux game and there is just a lot out there it is pretty daunting sometimes especially for issues that are so obscure. But persistence and no sleep are key…
