Siril 1.0.5 not installing in Ubuntu on Mac M1

I installed Siril 1.0.4 on iMac M1 running Ubuntu in Parallels and it works just fine. I tried to install 1.0.5 using the Ubuntu GUI interface as well as using the line commands. The latter gave me “cannot execute binary file: Exec format error.” The commands used were:

chmod +x Siril-1.0.5-x86_64.AppImage
$ /Siril-1.0.5-x86_64.AppImage

The former try was to run it by double clicking on it after making it an executable file in Properties:Permissions. Nothing happened----

Hello
Appimage is not for MacOs but for Linux. Why you don’t use the macOS version?

this, in the file name, means it’s for 64-bit intel/AMD processors.

AppImage is not the correct way to install on ubuntu, I think you need this one instead Debian -- Package Download Selection -- siril_1.0.6-1+b2_arm64.deb

I would tun it on my iMac M1 if I could find a package which would install and run. That is why I am using Ubuntu on Parallels. I guess I could try the Windows 11 installation in Parallels but Windows is a machine hog compared to Ubuntu.

If you use PPA as @vinvin mentioned you will have a ARM version of Siril.

Used the link. Thanks

No, Sorry. The link given by vincent is not PPA. PPA is even easier because you can have automatic updates.
