Hello,
In Preferences-Astrometry menu, a folder should be choosen concerning the Gaia Photometric extract, but Siril asks for a file.
No. For astrometry this is a file.
There’s a script python to download automatically. You should use that.
That’s what I did; but concerning the “Gaia Photometric extract” parameter, the ‘info-bulle’ displays
‘Specify the folder where the Gaia Photometric catalogue is stored’.
And in config.1.3.ini file, I found
catalogue_gaia_photo=E:/siril\siril_cat1_healpix8_xpsamp
The astrometric catalogue is a single file whereas the SPCC catalogue is split into 48 chunks, so the preference for the catalogue should point to a folder. The catalogue installer script shown below (available in the Scripts->Python Scripts menu) will automatically put the catalogues in a sensible place (the catalog path shown at the bottom, though you can change the location) and update the preferences automatically for you.
Note that for the SPCC catalogue you have to choose a selection method, typically either “All” or “Visible from latitude” is a good option (the latter will save you some hard drive space by not installing chunks containing parts of the sky you will never image).
