Sirilic & Siril outputting different results. Help please!

Hi All,
Having a very strange issue with Sirilic.
I did 2 nights of imaging totalling 3 hours.
I took new calibration frames each night and new flats the next mornings.
When I compiled them in Sirilic and it auto-opens in Siril, I click from linear to autostretch and the result is very poor as can be seen in the 1st image.
There is no detail visible really and I couldn’t bring it out in processing (following the usual steps in Siril)
Frustrated, I just threw the lights from Night 2 into the lights folder from Night 1 and did the normal OSC-preprocessing script in Siril (ignoring Sirilic) using the combined Night 1 & Night 2 lights along with the calibration frames from Night 1.
The result was far better (image 2)even though I’m sure it’s not best practice.

Anyway, I just went the latter route and am very pleased with my end result( my first proper astro photo, the 3rd photo attached).

As an experiment, I took a single night session and did the OSC preprocessing script in Siril and took the same night session and ran it as a single session (not multi)in Sirilic. The results were complete different from one another and pretty much the same as the 1st two attached images.
To be clear, it’s not that the data needs to just be stretched in Sirilic, it’s that the starting point is not the same as in Siril using the same data and in fact after much stretching etc, the data doesn’t even seem to be there. It’s like something akin to a single image rather than a stack.
Many thanks in advance

as well you should be!!! :exploding_head:

Sorry, haven’t used Siril since 2019 (much earlier version) and not very expertly then. I’ll levae your questions to others…

Thanks very much Martin. Yes I find Siril excellent and very straightforward to use. I’m just surprised at how different the result is when using Sirilic with exactly the same data
