Slide show with LibreOffice Impress audio issues

I want to create photo slide shows that I can put online or email, with voice commentary for each slide. The viewer needs to be able to pause the show and jump to specific slides, so video won’t be suitable. LibreOffice does a good job of this, where an separate audio clip can accompany each slide. The presentations can be saved in the native format .ODP, or PowerPoint. They can also be exported as PDF files, which would be accessible to a wider audience.

The audio icon initially displays in Impress right in the middle of the screen, in front of the photo (Impress1). This icon can be sent to the back, behind the photo, and it still plays (Impress2). When exported as a PDF, however, it comes back to the front, partially obscuring the photo (Impress3). Any solutions for this?!

Workaround: I haven’t been able to keep the audio icon behind the image when converting to PDF, but at least I can resize it very small and place it in the bottom corner so it doesn’t really block any important parts of the image. It might even be better in that the viewer is able to pause or stop the audio.

There is another issue with transitions in different versions of Impress not working properly. The transitions work fine in the Libreoffice appimage I downloaded Feb. 2020, but not in an appimage I I downloaded a few days ago, and not in the installation version. Apparently transitions have been an ongoing problem for years, so I’m just glad to have an appimage that works properly.

In the PDF, the audio won’t auto play, so it needs and icon to be able to play…

When I play it as a PDF, the icon is visible, but I don’t need to press play to make it play. It does that automatically when the slide is displayed. The icon, of course, does allow me to pause or stop the audio, but it does play auto.
