Solved: Camera is not recognized and displayed in DT

Hello,
I would like to take photos via DT using tethering. After I have connected the camera via usb, I call up the import, but unfortunately I only see the connected SD card but not the connected camera. Regardless of the mode of the camera, whether with or without SD card or connected SD card drive or not, the camera remains hidden.

Are there any other settings that need to be made beforehand?

With dmesg -W I can see the connected camera, so it is recognized in principle.
My system: Minux Mint 22.1 xia, Olympus E-M5III, DT 5.0.1
Greetings

is not yet on:

http://www.gphoto.org/proj/libgphoto2/support.php

By using <gphoto2 --auto-detect> i see my camera as USB mass storage.
In this list i found this: "If it a USB mass storage based camera (appearing like a USB stick or USB drive) it is mounted by your operating system and not gphoto2. In this case a report to us is not necessary. "

But what does that mean?
Since there is not a nearly current camera from Olympus/OMDS listed there, does that mean that these cameras are never supported and will never go this way? Or does that mean that the camera alone would have to be recognized by the operating system? Which it doesn’t seem to do for me.

Solved.
I have now tried with the E-M1III and this camera is recognized by gphoto2, although I did not find it in the libgphoto2-list. DT also recognizes this camera and connects to it.

I think you’re expected to request support and send some data that’s requested in the “New camera support” template.

The probability of something getting added without somebody asking (or even better, contributing) is not very high.

Yes, that’s right. I have tried to create a corresponding entry. Let’s see if it helps.
