[SOLVED] gphoto downloads to hard drive

These two commands
gphoto2 --capture-image-and-download
or
gphoto2 --capture-image-and-download --interval=5 --frames=10
are what I type to take pictures while away from the camera.

Is there a way to change the download destination from /Home to /Downloads?

It seems --mkdir creates a folder in the camera’s memory card and --recurse can be used to keep a folder as the default download destination (in the camera?.. I am not sure), but I am not an expert when it comes to using the terminal and I can’t figure this out.

I use openSUSE and xubuntu, not windows or mac, if it matters at all.

Doesn’t it just download to the current directory?

So f you do cd ~/Desktop and then run your commands, you should get your files on the desktop.

Thank you! I opened the terminal from the Downloads folder and now the images are sent and kept there. It could not be easier.
