[solved] Inpaint result showing mask edge

Hi,
After tweaking all possible settings and reading about it in the forum and the article by Pat David, I couldn’t find a way of eliminating the red line (which corresponds to the edge of the red mask) in inpaint patch-based tool.

The mask and source selection:

inpaint settings:

Good evening, Rei!

I have a faint memory of having read something about that problem…
I think it is because you have used the wrong kind of tool to make the
red area. I am really not sure, but try the pencil instead of the brush.

Have fun!

PS: Found it:

The paint-tool creates anti-aliased pixels which gives rise to edge artefacts.

Hey Claes, you’re the guy!!

Now it’s just a matter of tweaking the settings.

Thanks!!

For future reference, I completely eliminated any kind of selection before painting.
Then I painted using pencil, then I selected an area that included the red mask and the source area.
