Some light experiments [data added]

Sooo, it began when I started to think about whether I “needed” a new LED light. Or not.
[Honest reply: “Need?” Oh, absolutely not. “Fun to have?” Hmmm. Of course!]

However, I was a bit worried about the light quality of LED versus an ordinary flash,
so I made a swift comparison between two of my present main light sources.

First image = a quality flashgun @ 5600K; Fuji XF50 lens.

Second image = an el cheapo RGB LED lamp, set to 5600K; Olympus Zuiko close-focus 50mm lens.

Verdict: ho-hum. Not much to complain about, at least not light-wise,
which means that I really do not “need” to buy the new toy :frowning:

However: I do need more practice setting light…

Here actual measurements:

In short: The higher values, the better.
CRI = Color Rendering Index. R9 is a dark red patch, which is very tricky
to reproduce. A TLCI in the 90s is good (TLCI is what television camera
men talk about).

Another case of villhöver?
Which flash do you use for fujifilm?

Good morning, @hatsnp!

Absolutely correct.
A splendid example of villhöver.

I have a Godox V860IIF (GN 60) and a smaller Godox TT350F (GN 36).
Both triggered by a Godox XProF.

Have fun!

Good morning @Claes

Thank you for the quick response. I’m looking for a general purpose flash for my indoor photos + macro that I want to start trying, I’ll take a look at those!
