Hello All
I recently upgraded to Siril 1.2.0, only to find it is not working and crashing. As I was totally happy with the old version, I downloaded 1.2.beta 1 again, and put the starnet folder under miscellanies in the appropriate directory. However, if I want to use starnet I get “no valid starnet executable found…”
What Am I missing here?
As stated in our documentation:
If you are wondering why StarNet doesn’t launch , please run it outside Siril first. It’s not Siril’s fault if it’s not supported by your computer or badly installed for some reason. If your processor does not support the vectorization instructions required by StarNet, there is no way to bypass that. The error message will be obtained by executing StarNet alone.

Hi Cyril
Thanks for your reply. Maybe I should have mentioned that is was all running with 1.2.0 beta1 fine before! Only when I upgraded to 1.2.0 did the trouble start.
I sadly deleted the starnet files when I “cleaned up” so it has nothing to do with not supported by my computer. And if I would have your background in IT, I would most probably not need to ask any questions in this “help” forum.
So maybe your IT skills are brilliant, your socials, seem to limp a bit behind!
I did read all the suggested documentation.
Re-downloaded Siril 1.2.0 Siril is brilliant and working fine so far. However again I can’t get starnet to run anymore.
I downloaded the folder again and if I want to put it in the location folder tab it give me an error message “You don’t have permission to execute this file!”
I am an IT neanderthal, so please any help in plain English pls.
P.S. did all the recommended steps in the suggested documentation.
