Can we have a proper start menu app icon please.
on my Mac the app icon is fine 
Can you give some detail please? What version of darktable, what OS?
Looks like windows and I don’t see this on my PC with Win10…is it maybe WIn11??
sorry, using Windows 10 and stardocks start 11 app, darktable 3.80
I don’t know what is stardocks start but sounds that something to display apps a different way than default Windows. On what I quickly check, seems indeed to allow customizing Windows apps menus. Could you try without stardocks enabled and see if you have same thing ?
I suspect the start menu app is the issue…I have no experience with that …often in WIndows the icon is embedded in the programs Exe file…you could try to reference that ??
EDIT That software has a forum…you might find something there… one example google provided was… Only changing the Small icons, not the other sizes. » Forum Post by IconPackagerNotWorking may not contain your answer but likely you will get one there…
