State of Libre Graphics presentation at Libre Graphics Meeting 2025

Hi there!

First time here, so a little disoriented, but here goes…

I’m MA, I’m helping with the annual LibreGraphics Meeting (LGM) conference (https://libregraphicsmeeting.org/) and am in charge of the State of Libre Graphics presentation. This opening presentation at LGM is an update from the many software, curation, publication and umbrella projects of our Libre Graphics community.

Also, to anyone seeing this, if you can make it to all or any of the days May 28th-31st in Nuremberg, Germany, we would be happy to have you for LGM! Registration is free.

I was looking around for the contact info of major libre-graphics projects for the state of libre graphics presentation (you can track my progress here List of Projects · Issue #1 · libregraphicsmeeting/state-of-lg-2025 · GitHub) and it seemed like gegl, gmic, and rawtherapy could only be found here. I also saw presence from GIMP, Darktable here. If it would be possible to let people from those projects know the information below, that would be awesome! Also would love to include pixls.us forum itself, and of course, any other projects are more then welcome to submit!!!

If you have suggestions for more projects you would like to see other than those on the list above, of course please let me know.

The submission repository and instructions is located here: GitHub - libregraphicsmeeting/state-of-lg-2025: Collect the slides for the state of libre graphics 2025. Basically, we’re just looking for a description, what cool things the [project name] team has been up to this year, and anything cool to look forward to in the future! Bonus points, I thought might be fun if the slides for [project name] were also created using [project name]. To give time for assembly, please have the slides in before May 21st, preferably before, the earlier the easier for me.

Of course, I understand creating slides takes time, so if a developer from the project doesn’t want to make slides, but would still like to be included, that’s completely fine, I can make them. Just let me know a 2-3 sentence description of your project, and give or point to a change-log and roadmap.

Howdy, what format are your slides in?

Maybe @Michmill can tell you about some of the AI face detection stuff in digiKam.

@agriggio has some really cool stuff like CTL scripts and tone mapping in ART (Rawtherapee fork).

@Lawrence37 is getting RawTherapee ready for a 5.12 release.

@patdavid and I will try to get together some pixls and broader community things.

For format, anything as long as it’s not proprietary is fine. As here it’s all about image editing, I imagine images? It’ll end up on a screen I imagine, so preferably 1920x1080px large images.

A fun (but optional) challenge I thought for this presentation is if the project’s submission was made using that project (don’t quite know how that would work for pixls forums though haha).
