Hi,
I know darktable “imports” styles one gets from other users.
I wonder how “presets” are imported, if they can be.
In other words, where darktable stores the presets (under Linux)?
Presets are stored in data.db
. I’m not sure you can import them, but you could write them directly to the database.
Thank you.
Then I understand that, unlike “styles”, presets are essentially home-made and they are meant to be used as such.
Seems to be a sound decision.
@bc_the-path The configuration and operation files of darktable.pdf (183.9 KB) You may find this usefule
THAT is great!
Thank you, Todd.
A ‘style’ contains a complete history stack with multiple modules and several instances of them.
A ‘preset’ contains settings for a single module only.
You can import a preset in the global options menu on the ‘presets’ page. On the lower left there is a import button.
Forgot how to export presets, maybe it’s somewhere in the manual.
Thank you! I have never noticed that menu.
Presets, and styles for that matter, can help working in a faster and more consistent way.
That is why I am trying to learn more about them.
I hope I can find the recording format (probably *.txt) somewhere.
Thanks again,
