Suggest a Password Manager

I am looking for a decent password manager that helps me organize my pwd mess. I am willing to pay a small amount of money for improved convenience and security but not a huge sum. I need it for linux and iPhone.
Any advice is appreciated.

I am using KeePassXC for many years now. KeePassXC (or compatible solutions) are available for all platforms. I am syncing the password files (each odd week) manually via my NAS (PC, Laptop, Smartphone, Tablet). Syncing is a bit of an effort, but the alternative would be to host the password file in the cloud.
In case you are open to cloud solutions Bitwarden might be an option.

Also keepassxc for me as well.

I use BitWarden and it works really well on all platforms (Android, Linux, Windows), it’s FOSS and available on iOS too.

I switched to KeePassXC when Revelation became unmaintained, and has been sticking with it because it has a standard file format. I have been planning to figure out templates for it for a while but always postponed that

I also have a Firefox account which allows syncing across devices, it is supposed to be safe but I am only saving non-critical passwords in my browser.

I guess Apple’s own Password manager wouldn’t work for you? Obv you’d need to input passwords manually on Linux from your phone…

I use the standard Firefox manager - does the job great for me as I also use Firefox on my (android) phone. Only negative is passwords for standalone apps are not managed, but the occasional copy-paste doesn’t bother me.

Another happy Bitwarden user here. Switched from LastPass after they failed to properly communicate after incidents.

I run a self-hosted copy of Psono, and am happy with it. There are hosted versions you can pay for, but are free for teams of fewer than 10 people.

I also use KeepassXC on Linux and Strongbox on my iPhone and iPad. The master Keepass database is maintained on the Linux PC and distributed to the iPhone and iPad.

KeepassXC here, too.

KeepassXC here ad well. Using syncthing for syncing the db on my devices. Works nice and smooth.

Pass/password-store on linux and android. Synced to local git repo and using a stripped key on the android device.

On linux i use a dmenu pass script for auto completion/search as you type. Android has a password store app.

Another vote for Bitwarden which I’ve used for a couple years now. Before that LastPass and Dashlane.

Somehow Bitwarden didn’t work well for me. The browser extension did not reliably fill in my passwords in any browser, desktop or mobile. In the end I found it too annoying, and went back my browser’s password manager.

what do you propose for the iphone when working with keepassxc?
Strongbox or KeePassium? Recommendations?

+1 for KeepassXC. I don’t really need to sync between different machines a lot, so just having a more or less up-to-date copy on a USB stick works well enough for me.

Well, I don’t know. Like I said above, I use Strongbox and it works perfectly for me, but I’ve never tried others since I used KeepassMini many years ago.

With Strongbox, I Upload my password database over my LAN to my iPhone and iPad. My database never goes into “the cloud”.

Another happy Bitwarden user here. I switched from LastPass a few years ago and have been mostly very happy with it. Now that I can use biometrics on my phone, it’s become a lot easier than in the early days.

On my iPhone I use KeePassTouch. It works nicely and syncing via my NAS is quite easy.
