I use a Style as the first step of processing in order to set up my core set of modules and their values. I don’t have a feel for how many others work like this.
When I import a raw, or a selection of them, or a folder, I have to go back to lighttable (for the first two scenarios), then select all, then apply the style. How about adding a step to the import process where you get your styles listed, choose one, and it’s all done? And maybe have the history compressed too?
you can apply a style also in darkroom - middle of the lower left icons.
Additional you can also define a default setting for each module you want to be applied for each image.
Applying a style after import is part of my workflow, yes. As it takes only <CTRL+A> and left clicking a style from the list, I never looked into automizing this step with a LUA script. There is an example in the LUA script repo which auto applies styles based on image metadata.
I guess this can be used as starting point for an own script.
