Thanks to @s7habo Boris Hajdukovic in here. He gave me the idea how to process that the important part of the picture is highlighted and the background is dark. This is my first attempt for that, so please be patient with me.
Here is my attempt in DT V4.7. I probably prefer @josemar127 version to mine. I noticed @Mattes that you used a low pass filter to add blur to the image using the low pass filter and I thought that took away from this image as detail seemed so important to me here.
Your version is actually pretty good. It has nice deep and soft shadows that help to better define and emphasize the main subject. Also, reducing coarse local contrasts makes the scene much calmer. You just have to be careful not to lose the fine details or make them too bloomy.

In GIMP as always. Adjustments with luminosity masks and finally added a mask to blur the background.
