Sunsets and color

How would you deal with these images? I would like to see (and learn!) specially about how do you work on color grading (sunsets are so intense) and lights, so that you can get something not artificial, but also reflecting the intensity of the moment.
Thanks in advance!

Thank you for this photograph with it’s glorious colours. After playing with it in GIMP, I decided to create just a hint detail in the stonework and leave the rest unchanged!

A bit of a shame to throw all that colour away, but I couldn’t resist
Cropping this one is hard, If you center the clouds, the fort’s (guardhouse?) stays a bit off-center to the right. In the end I centered it around the clouds.
