Wandering how it is possible to auto-tag images depending on camera model, lens, etc. I can see “tag presets” in input parameters but couldn’t find any info on what it was and how to get it working.
Those details are already in the Exif header, why duplicate them as tags? You can filter by that metadata in darktable.
When posting on flickr metadata are not searchable yet tags are. More tags – more views. But it’s annoying to tag manually. And WTF tag presets are?
Not sure whether it is a feature and whether flickr can pick up on dt tags. If not, do a search and put in a feature request, see: contact | darktable.
Tag presets are presets defined in the (lightroom) taggingmodule. Presumably (I never used that feature), such a preset add the tags present when you defined the preset to the image where you apply it…
But it’s also possible to add a tag to all selected images in one action (after import). Not sure if you can use the metadata (EXIF) info for that.
I’m sure the question can be asked without involving WTF.
If you don’t find another solution, you could filter the collection by camera, select all images, and add the tag manually:

I tried using variables, but they did not work:

The metadata editor also did not seem to work:

Maybe you could create a Lua script and contribute it here:
None of the tag-related tools seem to do what you want to achieve.
Sure it can. I can see them after uploading. Another question is if flickr is really able to use image file metadata and to what extent.
Anyways, thanks everyone who replied. Now I have better understanding of what I can do.
