Tentative RGB workflow for DT3

I set exposure as you said. In filmic, I set middle grey to 18% and the rest of filmic steps the same.

If I need brighten it, I modify exposure again.

Why 18%? Because of this :

[DSC_0667] DSC_0667.NEF.xmp (6,3 Ko) The trick is: adjust the global brightness in exposure module prepare a filmic curve with grey = 18%, and adjust black and white to input (don’t spend too much time tweaking) build a sinus in tone equalizer, centered in -4EV, then use the mask exposure compensation to drive the brightening/darkening pivot. I got too lazy to adjust the amplitude of the sinus (set to 1.5 EV), so I just used a 50% opacity to soften, instead of re-adjusting every slider. rais…

Two ways of using Filmic RGB

Aren’t they the same thing? I think the middle gray luminance slider is the equivalent of exposure but with a different name middle gray luminance = 18 => exposure module = +0 ev middle gray luminance = 9 => exposure module= +1 ev middle gray luminance = 4.5 => exposure module= +2 ev
