Test of RawTherapee on MacOS 10.14-15, 11, 12β Mojave-Catalina-Big Sur-Monterey (intel code)

Thanks for the reports and support. If you run into any crash, sharing the crash report can help solve any packaging errors we encounter.

Hello, I am a n00b here and only used RT for a few hours (coming from LR, nobody’s perfect  ). Just wanted to thank you Hiram for this pre-5.9 version. It is running quite smoothly on my MBA 2019 + BigSur 11.6.1 I still have to digg into the functionalities!

Hello again, it might sound like a silly question, but do you know if the latest build integrates this fix: https://github.com/Beep6581/RawTherapee/commit/1318935a870a32610f5a06e29b673aaa472e6170 ?
I am currently fighting with the file browser to get larger images, but can not zoom to a high level :frowning:

It should, that commit is more than a year old.

I’ve uploaded a new working build for M1 “arm64” macs. https://kd6kxr.keybase.pub/RawTherapee_macOS_11.3_arm64_5.8-3065-g9c5ce0d9b.zip
Stay tuned for another test build for the intel mac.

Amazing! I will test the 3064 version as soon as it is available :+1:t3:
And thanks for the confirmation regarding the fix.

This is a new build for Intel x86_64 Macs (Catalina 10.15+):

https://kd6kxr.keybase.pub/RawTherapee_macOS_10.15_x86_64_5.8-3065-g9c5ce0d9b.zip

In this build I have fixed the Dynamic Range Compression crash which was due to some missing linker flags.

Is there any reason to not give Hiram’s latest build a go with Big Sur 11.4?

Thanks Hiram for your work to date

It will work on 10.15 Catalina, 11 Big Sur, and 12 Monterey.

10.14 Mojave is no longer supported by Apple and Homebrew.

Working fine in iMac with 11.5.1. Thank you for the build !!!

Thanks so much for these builds @HIRAM !

It is working great for me except that I still can’t select ICC profiles under Color → Output Profile that are stored in either in /Library/ColorSync/Profiles or ~/Library/ColorSync/Profiles

For some reason I can still select profiles that are in the subfolder /Library/ColorSync/Profiles/Displays.

The last working build I can find where this did not occur was RawTherapee_OSX_10.9_64_5.8-397-g276ae214f.

I am testing on macOS 11.6.2 (20G314)

Thanks for all your hard work with this!

Thx @Tristan for your report. I wonder what the issue is behind this ICC access.

I’m not sure what the ICC issue would be, but works fine with the RawTherapee_OSX_10.9_64_5.8-397-g276ae214f build for whatever reason.

The only other issue I noticed with this latest build was that I needed to enable Full Disk Access for the Raw Therapee app. With previous builds it would ask me for permission as it required access to various locations - e.g. Downloads, Desktop, etc and once confirmed, those locations would appear under the ‘Files and Folders’ section in Security & Privacy in System Preferences.

With this latest build I needed to give it Full Disk Access before it would load up any images.

This may be however that I was previously on macOS 10.15.7 when it seemed to allow selective access, whereas now I am testing on macOS 11.6.2, and perhaps this has changed things.

It sounds familiar… this can happen when successive installations occur/security settings do not automatically reset themselves…

3.(a) System Security may need to be refreshed.
Reset the settings with sudo spctl --reset-default

The 397 build was the first to be compatible with Catalina’s default security. macOS 11 and 12 are even stricter.

Hi,

I tried to download from
https://kd6kxr.keybase.pub/RawTherapee_macOS_10.15_x86_64_5.8-3065-g9c5ce0d9b.zip

But this link does not exist anymore.
Where can i download this version ?

Thanks

That particular build was superseded by https://kd6kxr.keybase.pub/RawTherapee_macOS_10.14_x86_64_5.8-3100-g0599a5e96.zip

0d9b was still there on the 15th of last month Hiram, so not so long ago!

Can you tell me what the differences are by any chance?
