This is a topic for testing some settings related to image resizing.
Beetlejuice: 2560 x 1440
Grr. There’s a new feature added a little while back that monkeys with images before they are uploaded (client-side image optimization in composer…).
forest-wallpaper.jpg: 2560 x 1440
If I crop this to 1920x____, the uploaded does not match the file. I compared them in Firefox.
No, there’s a slight recompression if it’s a JPG image.
I see. What format(s) should I upload to sidestep this?
Hang on - I’m most concerned about not getting the full resolution original file link. I don’t mind so much if the previews on the site are re-compressed JPG that has been resized, but I don’t want to lose access to the full resolution un-monkeyed-with version y’all upload.
I am being patient: just giving you the info dump.
To clarify, I was comparing full size images; i.e., right click to new tab and then view at 100%. There is re-compression and therefore a difference there.
