The 180-Euro-photo-series

Agreed with @elGordo.

I particularly like the new “rock with trees”. However, the colors in that picture seem to be a bit off, the green on the top is fluorescent (I’m looking at it in Chrome under Linux, could be that). Also, there is clear color fringing on the top of the trees, which is distracting.

Confirmed with Firefox on both Linux and Windows.

I think the intense sharpening makes these defects worse. That said, these images are more contemplative. I like them and how @betazoid is giving us a visual photo and nature interpretation walk.

Both the ca module and the lens correction in dt dont work well for this lens. Always some ca left.

Have you tried the defringe module? In my experience it works quite well when the CA Lens correction fails.

Yes. Initially I used that but the devs at the LGM2019 told me to use chromatic aberrations or lens correction instead. I understand why but… well often they fail… CA and defringe works really well in RT though…

This waterfall is called Ysperklamm. It’s the same region. I planned this hike for months. Finally we were able to make it after a long rainy period.

I’m a sucker for running water such as this. Grew up in a place where the water doesn’t run like this; dreamed of visiting and maybe even living near such.

Were you ever within an 180 euro (or equivalent) commute to such?

I don’t understand the question. You don’t believe that I had to pay 180 euros for the taxi? Well it’s true. But since then I made at least 2 more trips to the same region without paying 180 euro for the taxi. I had to pay 180 euro for the ride form Zwettl to Krems, and from Krems I took the train. The ride from Zwettl to Vienna probably would have cost 500 euro or so. The taxi came not form Zwettl but form Horn because in Zwettl there is no taxi. And of course after it dropped me off in Krems it went back to Horn because that’s where the taxi driver/owner lives.
Correction: I payed 120 euro for the taxi and 50 euro for the ticket.
Edit: well I am posting the other photos here because it is the same region and I kind to think that it is unnecessary to start a new thread for each trip.

It was a response to @ggbutcher. Even if one doesn’t live near water, one can visit locations that do.

I am right now; about 1.5hr drive to the South Platte River and Tarryall Creek. Previously, not so much. Louisiana, Florida, Nebraska, all slow-water states…

This is in a different region, it’s close to the Rax and the Schneeberg south of Vienna.

This place is called Johannesbachklamm

Also Johannesbachklamm. I went there yesterday.
